Ken Liu is based in the U.S. and leads daily operations. Prior to his position as CEO of ND Paper, Ken served as Vice Chairman at America Chung Nam (ACN), Nine Dragons’ sister company and primary supplier. For 15 years, ACN has been America’s largest exporter by container volume and recycles millions of tons of recycled paper every year. As Vice Chairman at America Chung Nam, Ken oversaw corporate development, market strategy and general management. He was previously a consultant at PwC where he advised leading technology, telecom and banking companies. Ken graduated cum laude when he earned his Artium Baccalaureus (Bachelor of Arts) in government from Harvard University.

Chief Financial Officer
Karen Li is our Chief Financial Officer. Karen came to ND Paper from our sister company, where she advanced through the ranks taking on additional responsibilities in her roles as Accounting Manager, Management Controller, Financial Controller and, most recently, Global Financial Controller. Karen is a certified CPA, and her experience and leadership skills are a great asset to the Finance team at ND Paper.

Senior Vice President of Operations
Steve Demyon is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the Biron, WI and Rumford, ME paper mills and the ND Sheets facilities in Langhorne, PA and Fairmont, WV. Steve joined ND Paper in 2018 and has held progressive leadership roles including General Manager of the Fairmont, WV and Biron, WI mills, as well as Corporate Director of Logistics. He brings more than 30 years of manufacturing and operational leadership experience and holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Fairmont State University.

Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing
With more than 30 years in the paper business, Matt is an expert in the pulp & paper industry and leads our Sales & Marketing team. Matt leverages his insight and paper industry experience to continually position ND Paper for growth in an evolving market. Matt has held sales leadership positions with several leading paper companies during his career, and most recently served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing with Catalyst Paper prior to joining ND Paper. Matt joined the paper industry following a five-year service obligation with the U.S. Naval Service. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy.

General Counsel - Legal
Thadd brings over 25 years of legal and strategic experience in the manufacturing sector. He has served as General Counsel for a large chemical manufacturer, advising senior leadership and the Board of Directors on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters. Prior to that, he held a senior in-house counsel role at a global manufacturing firm, where he led legal initiatives covering intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, and complex contracting. Thadd is known for aligning legal strategy with business objectives and serving as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams.
He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a JD from Marquette University Law School.

Chaodan Zheng is Vice President of Logistics at ND Paper. Prior to her position with ND Paper, Chaodan was a member of Morgan Stanley’s Equity Research Division, where she covered equities spanning the life insurance industry to gaming and lodging. Chaodan graduated with her Artium Baccalaureus (Bachelor of Arts), cum laude, in government, with a Secondary in East Asian Studies and Citation in Chinese from Harvard University.

Katie Adams
Vice President of External Affairs and Sustainability
Katie began her career in Washington, D.C. and brings over a decade of experience in government and communications to our team. She served as an assistant press secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy before continuing her work in energy and sustainability communications at World Wildlife Fund. After her time in D.C., Katie returned home to Maine, where she worked in the state legislature—first as a communications director and later as a chief of staff. At ND, Katie draws on these experiences to strengthen our government relations and communications programs, while also advancing our sustainability goals. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University.

With more than 25 years of experience in the paper industry, Steve began his career in mill operations, spending 13 years as an operator while simultaneously serving 10 years as a local Union President. He later transitioned into Order Management and ultimately became a Shipping Supervisor. Answering a new calling, Steve moved into Human Resources, where he advanced through progressively senior roles, culminating as Senior Director of HR for ND Paper. Steve has since returned to his operational roots and now serves as Vice President & General Manager of the Biron mill.

Vice President and General Manager - Rumford Division
Michael brings more than three decades of experience in pulp, paper, tissue, and recycled fiber manufacturing to ND Paper. Throughout his career, he has held technical, operational, and executive leadership roles across North America and Asia. Michael began his career in the Pulp and Paper Program at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he worked on pulping, bleaching, and black liquor recovery projects sponsored by paper mills. He later held leadership positions with Alfa Laval Celleco, Ponderosa Fibers of America, Kimberly-Clark, Asia Pulp & Paper (APP), and Sonoco Products Company. At ND Paper, Michael leverages his extensive industry experience to help drive operational excellence and supporting the long-term success of both the mill and the company.
Kody Demyon

Director of Procurement - Purchasing
Kody is a procurement, maintenance & operations management professional with a demonstrated history of working in the pulp & paper products industry.
He began his career at the Fairmont Division of ND Paper, overseeing all facets of procurement. He most recently served as Category Manager, Services & Capital.
Kody’s daily activities include managing all sourcing, contracting, and procurement operations across ND Paper’s $300 million spend portfolio.
Doug Schmidt

Director of Information Technology
Doug brings more than 30 years of information technology experience in the paper industry to ND Paper and currently serves as Director of Information Technology. He began his career with Electronic Data Systems in 1988 before joining Consolidated Papers in 1991. Throughout his career, Doug has held a variety of IT leadership roles, including Application Analyst, Team Leader, Manager, and Director, and has served in management positions for over two decades. Having worked through multiple ownership transitions, Doug offers deep institutional knowledge and a strong understanding of the technology needs of the paper business. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point.

Director of Human Resources
Donna brings extensive experience in talent acquisition and human resources to ND Paper. She was the second employee hired by ND Paper following the company’s launch in 2018, joining as a Senior Recruiter and helping build the organization from the ground up. Donna began her career in high-volume retail management, where she developed expertise in recruiting and workforce development before transitioning into human resources. Since joining ND Paper, Donna has advanced from Senior Recruiter to Director of Human Resources, leading initiatives in talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational development, policy compliance, and company culture. Donna holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) certification.
